🖌️ Branding & Interface Design

OVERVIEW

Adhunika translates to modern in Hindi, the official language of India. For that reason, Adhunika pays homage to traditional South Asian culture while simultaneously, and quite literally, reflecting an innovative and evolving modern cuisine. 



A contemporary Indian restaurant is by no means an original idea. Many restaurants have mastered the balance of fine dining with authentic, wholesome meals. But my goal was to extend that experience past the inventive dishes themselves. Personal interactions have shown me that ambience and thoughtful details are just as vital in curating an immersive atmosphere. With that, I set out to give Adhunika its own defining flair.

BRAND IDENTITY

In an effort to maintain a connection to Adhunika 's cultural roots, I created a brand identity that balanced a sleek, luxury feel with timeless classics of Indian heritage. The color palette, for example, focuses on pops of color, while the illustrations are designed with thin lines and little detail, alluding to casual elegance.

DIGITAL MENUS

The restaurant's unique feature are the digital menus at each table that allow flexibility for the chefs to adapt to daily and seasonal changes. Creating a digital presence in the restaurant cuts down on costs for menu printing and distribution, which can prove to be expensive in a high-end setting. With a sleek, user friendly interface, the design doesn't take away from human interaction. Rather, I was careful to maintain the genuine connection cultivated between staff and customers when dining in, hence the lack of an ordering system on the menu itself. In addition, the menu hosts a quick preview page to introduce customers to the platform, allowing a streamlined and accessible experience.
